Charlotte's Bio
Dr Charlotte Keating is a Clinical Psychologist with a PhD in Neuroscience. She works in her Sydney-based Private Practice on the Lower North Shore. As a passionate advocate for everyone's mental health, Charlotte has a particular interest in helping executives, parents, and young people (adolescents).
Charlotte is a member of the Board of Directors at the children’s charity, The Alannah and Madeline Foundation, and an Advisory Board member of the anti-bullying organisation, Dolly’s Dream. She has previously been a Member of the National Centre Against Bullying.
Charlotte contributes as a media spokesperson and mental health advocate on television, radio, podcast and print media on topics including: bullying, social media use, and wide-ranging mental health and wellbeing issues relevant to young people, parents and adults.
As an experienced and versatile keynote speaker, Charlotte connects with audiences with compassion and warmth to deliver evidence-based clinical and neuroscientific insights on ways to improve and enhance individual, and organisational wellbeing.
Charlotte obtained her PhD in Neuroscience relating to mood, body image, and eating disorders from Monash University in 2011 before completing her Postdoctoral Research Fellowship at Swinburne University of Technology. She has been a Board Member (2014-2017) and an Associate Editor (2017-2019) at the international scientific Journal Neuroscience & Biobehavioural Reviews.

You can work with Charlotte in-person at her private practice, go for a walking session in Sydney's LNS or have a session online.
Charlotte works with executives, parents and young people (adolescents). Her approach is very much client-centred. Charlotte uses evidenced based approaches including: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Family Systems approaches.
People often consider seeking the support of a psychologist, for themselves or for someone they care for, when they have a sense that life could be or could feel better than it does. Whether you, or your young person, are facing issues in your personal life, your professional life or if you are struggling to understand your own emotions and motivations, Charlotte will support you to develop self-reflective practices and strategies to better understand and address challenges as they arise, helping you feel equipped to live life according to your values and goals.

Charlotte presents on a range of speaking topics with cutting edge insights from the fields of neuroscience and psychology relating the individual and organisational wellbeing.
Health and wellbeing is vital for people regardless of industry. Charlotte enjoys speaking with a range of stake-holders in the room or via webinar. Examples include: Finance and Banking (customer owned and commercial), Health (consumers and practitioners), Health Tech, Law, Sport and Education (government and non-government). Previous clients have included: Bank of America, The Victorian Bar, Siemens Healthineers, Australian Childcare Alliance and Department of Education, Skills and Employment (DESE).

As a spokesperson and mental health advocate on television, radio, podcast and print media, Charlotte speaks on a range topics, including: bullying, social media use, and wide-ranging mental health and wellbeing issues relevant to young people, parents and adults.
Charlotte has been featured in the ABC series, My Year 7 Life. She was the resident psychologist on ABC Radio Show 'Afternoons' and she has provided expert advice on the talk back show ABC Radio National 'Life Matters'. A small selection of podcasts and radio segments can be listened to below.
Community roles:
ADVISORY BOARD
Charlotte is an Advisory Board Member at Dolly's Dream.
Dolly's Dream, was set up by Kate and Tick Everett to honour Dolly Everett who took her life at 14 years old, after relentless bullying.
Kate and Tick's goal is to prevent other families experiencing this tragedy. Dolly's Dream is focused on changing the culture of bullying by addressing the impact of bullying, anxiety, depression and youth suicide, through education and direct support to young people, parents and educators, especially in rural, regional and remote Australia.
Charlotte provides expert clinical advice to the Advisory Board at Dolly's Dream and offers clinical support and insights for the development of Dolly's Dream programs and partnerships, including the Dolly's Dream Support Line.
BOARD DIRECTOR
Charlotte is a Member of the Board of Directors at The Alannah and Madeline Foundation.
AMF was founded by Walter Mikac, when his daughters, aged six and three, were tragically killed alongside their mother and 32 others at Port Arthur in Tasmania.
Recently marking its 25th anniversary, the Foundation continues to support children and advocate for their right to be safe. The Foundation is a leader in policy advocacy and a service provider developing and delivering care programs and direct assistance to support children who have experienced trauma, as well as a school programs assisting kids to be positive digital citizens.
Charlotte plays a governance role on the Board of Directors, as well as being the Board's clinical advisor.
